You can create two different types of date fields on your forms using the calendar icon in your Doc Editor toolbar. You can chose to auto-date a field or provide the user with a calendar tool to choose their own, unique date.

How to add an auto-date field to your form
Auto dates collect the date of submission each time an approver completes a step of the workflow. These are typically added with an approval signature as a time stamp.
Here is how to add an auto-date:
1. Choose the calendar tool from the toolbar.
2. Add a date field where you would like your form to be dated. A date field will appear.
3. Confirm that the "How is the date added?" option shows "Automatically when submitted."
4. Choose the approval step that it should be assigned.
5. Click Save.
Note: If a form is sent back to a step for corrections, the previous date will clear and the form will be auto-dated with the date the form was re-submitted.
How to add a manual date field to your form
Manual date fields allow the approver to select from a calendar. These date fields are typically used to capture the Date of Birth or a specific date pertaining to the form request.
Here's how to add a manual date:
1. Choose the calendar tool from the toolbar.
2. Add a date field where you would like your form to be dated. A date field will appear.
2. Click into the date field to open the grey field settings box. A drop down menu titled "How is the date added?" will appear. If you click on "Calendar tool", the date field will allow users to select a unique date.
3. Mark the field as required if needed.
3. Click Save.
